DISTORTED HEAVEN - When the nighthawk circles

DISTORD HEAVEN - the band name says it all, because the grace of heavenly melodies is distorted by hard rock and charismatic rough vocals. The beauty and the beast, so to speak.

The beast in this case is the mysterious man at the mic, who calls himself The Nighthawk and appropriately wears a coat with feathers designed by theater costume designers on stage. He previously played in a cover band, until the creativity overflowing in him could no longer be restrained and he was determined to make his own music. As a congenial partner he found guitarist Matthias Doffek, who cultivates a unique, distinctive style. He has a background as a studied violinist and therefore has a completely different approach to melody arcs, riffs and solos. In addition, keyboardist Steffen Wentzel contributes a symphonic note with atmospheric pads and concise themes that wrap themselves like gentle waves around the rocks of the thundering rhythm section.

So how does it sound, the band from the Heinsberg district near the Dutch border? Words can only inadequately describe that.

The sound of DISTORTED HEAVEN is definitely substantial classic rock (the skin-tingling ballad "Bloody Sunshine" and the rousing "Rocking In The Dangerzone" and "Escape From The City" have something of the old Scorpions big deeds), but also anthemic metal elements ("Mystic Rain") and dark gothic vibes ("Don't Know The Way") make their way. Above all, this engaging, raw vocals, which you simply have to have heard yourself.

No wonder, therefore, that this obvious potential has also been recognized by established scene celebrities and that they have collaborated with DISTORTED HEAVEN for this remarkable debut album.

One is the already Gold Award-winning musician and producer Frank Stumvoll (Krypteria, And The She Came, among others), who encouraged The Nighthawk to turn his inner self inside out and release his very own voice into freedom.

Secondly, renowned digital artist Gustavo Sazes (Arch Enemy, Machine Head, Epica, among others) helped design the cover and band logo, which is wrapped in the cinematic colors of a glowing evening sky.                "It wasn't so easy not to make the logo look like a melting candy bar," Gustavo laughs self-deprecatingly.

The band was able to win DME as label and Edel (physical) and Kontor (digital) as distribution.
